Out with the old, in with the new!!!! |
As
many of you have already experienced UDTRA Heat has been released
and is, well simply put, AWESOME!!!! I haven't opened the
Ratbag games since it's release. I've been painting skins and
practicing for upcoming UDTRA Leagues anytime I get on the computer.
Having said that I'm making an announcement! This site will
have no further Ratbag updates added to it from now until further
notice. Whatever is here now will be an archive site
only. I'm taking my skills to UDTRA Heat racing.
I'm also joining NWSA_Outlaw in setting up a UDTRA Skin and Help
site. Check with the forums at OLR.cc
for more information on the site.
I'd like to thank everyone that has visited this site and welcome
them back for anything that is here now. I apologize to those
affected by this change but I welcome you all to join me and
hundreds of others in racing at UDTRA
Heat.

Just
thought I'd show off my work! I don't think it looks like it
but this is only a 20 minute skin.

Three Wheeling UDTRA Setup |
I
made this setup was made from a Buxton setup that I got from Gary
Slusser. I made some changes and found out how to get the left
front off the ground and transfer the weight to the right rear.
While this won't drive the car for you, and may not help
everyone, it did help me out a bunch. Just thought I'd pass it
along to all of you just in case it helped you out.
You will have to work with it a bit. Brakes and throttle
control are still a factor and it's not what I'd call
"perfect", but it is better than anything else I've tried.
Good luck!

Andrew
Porter has already started on skins for the 2002 UDTRA racing
season. 2002 cars were unveiled at a recent UDTRA conference
and Andrew found the pictures and has already turned out the first 3
skins for the new season.
Rick Eckert, Steve Francis, and Steve Shaver's skins are featured
on the Late Model skins page and are ready for download.
Look for more of Andrew's work here at Waynick Motorsports.

New Track Release |
Someone
told me recently that I was starting to turn out tracks like a
assembly line. And I thought to myself, "I really have
been editing tracks quick!" And I considered that maybe
the time I spend on these tracks where hurting the quality of the
track that I'm making. Well this track just proves that I'm
wrong!
Red Rock Speedway is a fictional track that started out as Silver
Dollar in DTRSC. I've taken away some of the banking in parts
of the track and added some in others. This gives this track
three racing grooves that are fairly equal in lap times. While
in testing, two of my testers and I ran several laps three wide and
never pulled away from one another until we made a little contact.
I hope everyone enjoys my latest release, Red Rock Speedway!

Winged Midget Release |
A
great new chassis has been created and release by DSRrat1. If
you like the USAC midget chassis you'll love this. The winged
midget is the same size as the regular midget but the top and front
wings are there for the stability that the big boys have! The
best of both worlds as posted by SGR-Jaxom in the Dirt Sim Racing
forum. This car has it all!
A league has been formed to run these miniature giants in and you
can find out more about that at Dirt
Sim Racing.
Download the Winged Midget here.

New Track Release |
With
being introduced to the world of USAC Midget racing I have been
inspired to create a track with the Midgets in mind.
As anyone who has ran a Midget can tell you these things are a
lot smaller than the USAC Sprints and have about half the horsepower
of the Winged Sprints. Because of this smaller tracks are
usually used for the Midgets, usually 1/3 of a mile or less in
size. Everyone is familiar with the small 1/6 mile track in
DTR called Wakeeney. Well this is what I based my Midget track
on. I have added just enough banking to the track to make it
interesting. And there is a twist in the banking at
that. On the low side you'll find banking of about 1 to 2
degrees. The further up the track you go it increases to about
10 to 12 degrees. The transition is nearly unnoticeable.
Nine second laps are within the reach of the Midgets. And 3
and 4 wide racing can and probably will be seen here!
I have advertised the Online Outlaws Series leagues and a few
other sites that have been of help to me so please visit these sites
for more great online racing information.
The name of the track is USAC Short Track! And it is just
that! Download it here!
